Hollystar smiled proudly from where she stood on the speaking stone.Even thought she hadn't called the clan together for a clan meeting yet, most of the clan was already gathered.Word had spread fast of the apprentice ceremonies that were to be held at sun high, after she'd spoken with both her brother Fangheart and his mate about their kits.
She looked up at the sky thoughtfully for a moment before deciding it was close enough to sun high to start the meeting."Let all those who are old enough to see the hills at the edge of our territory, gather beneath the speaking stone for a clan meeting!"She yowled as her voice echoed through out the camp and surrounding territory.
It didn't take long for the few cats missing to join the rest of the clan.When everyone was seated she began speaking again,"Our clan is blessed by plentiful prey and many kits."She began.
"As you all know, two of our kits have reached the age of 6 moons and are ready to be apprentices."She mewed her eyes glowing proudly as she spoke about her young kin.Her smile softened as she watched Fangheart and Ivywhisker lead Whitekit and Backkit through the parting clan members to the speaking stone.Hollystar smiled reassuringly at them as their parents beaming with pride sat down nearby leaving them both standing alone in front of the Speaking stone and clan.
"Blackkit."She mewed and the small black she-cat looked nervously up at her."From this day forward until you have earned your warrior name you will be known as Blackpaw.Blackpaw you have shown an interest in being a medicine cat.After speaking with Mintleaf,we've both agreed that you will make a wonderful medicine cat.She will be your mentor."She mewed kindly.She waited for mentor and apprentice to touch noses before adding."At the half moon,you will both have to visit the star cave so that Blackpaw can be excepted by starclan.The good wishes of all the clan will go with you."Hollystar turned to whitekit and smiled down at young white tom.
"Whitekit."She mewed and he look up at her with sparkling eyes."From this day forward until you have earned your warrior name you will be known as Whitepaw."She paused momentarily before continuing."Thought it is unusual for kin to mentor kin,I have decided to take on Whitepaw as my own apprentice."She mewed smiling.She leaped down and touched noses with her apprentice as the clan began welcoming the new apprentices with their new names.
